Rosenior praises Cup hero Nelson
Brentford boss Leroy Rosenior admitted he had not planned for keeper Stuart Nelson to take a penalty in the Carling Cup shoot-out victory at Swindon. Nelson scored the winning kick and Rosenior told the club website: \"We decided Stuart would take the last penalty in the centre circle. \"We practised penalties on Monday and everyone took one except Stuart. \"When I asked who wanted to take the fifth one he said he would and he was proved right in the end.\"

But Brentford midfielder John Mousinho headed past his own keeper in the 69th minute from a corner by Ian Baraclough. Early in the second half Jo Kuffour was denied the equaliser by the bar, before Kevin O'Connor got ahead of his marker to head in Paul Brooker's corner. Rosenior will not rush Owusu back
Brentford boss Leroy Rosenior insists he will not be setting a comeback date for injured striker Lloyd Owusu yet. \"Lloyd is making good progress, but at this stage I'm not prepared to put any time on his return,\" the Bees manager told his club's website. \"He has been working hard on his rehabilitation, but it will take time to get him back and ready for action. \"It may be slow progress - I will not be speculating about the date for his return until he is 100% fit.\" Owusu has been sidelined since he tore a groin muscle while on international duty with Ghana in April.

Brentford defender Andy Frampton has signed a new three-year deal. Bees boss Leroy Rosenior told the club website: \"I'm delighted Andy has agreed to stay long-term. He's pleased with what he's seen at the club this season. \"We look forward to getting him back from injury in the near future so that he can continue his important role as one of our senior players.\" Frampton, 27, has started over 100 games for Brentford since signing from Crystal Palace in 2002.

Midfielder Smith facing lay-off
Milton Keynes Dons boss Martin Allen will be without midfielder Gary Smith for two months after he suffered a medial knee ligament strain. Also, defender Craig Morgan may need surgery after breaking his nose in training on Monday. Meanwhile, Allen has appointed Junior Lewis as the club's development coach. Much-travelled midfielder Lewis, 32, played under Allen at Brentford last season but has been without a club since being released by the Bees. \"Junior has no coaching badges but has a wealth of experience,\" Allen told his club's website. \"He is coming to the end of his career and I am giving him the opportunity to go in a different direction.\" Lewis has made 183 league appearances for six different clubs.

Leyton Orient 1-1 Brentford
Sam Tillen hit an 88th minute equaliser to stretch Brentford's unbeaten league run to 15 games and increase Leyton Orient's winless run to five matches. Tillen scored his first Bees goal from 10 yards after Matt Heywood's header. It was harsh on the O's, who dominated most of the game and had gone ahead when Michael Simpson scored after Joe Keith flicked on Matt Lockwood's pass. Bees keeper Stuart Nelson denied Wayne Corden and Gary Alexander and blocked a 75-yard Justin Miller clearance. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leyton Orient: Garner, Miller, Lockwood, Tann, Saah, Corden, Simpson, Chambers, Keith (Barnard 79), Alexander, Connor (Ibehre 84). Winger Gavin Tomlin is available again after a foot injury, but midfielder Oli Skulason (hamstring) and defender Andy Frampton (ankle) remain sidelined. Swansea City have injury concerns over striker Lee Trundle (swollen knee) and midfielder Tom Butler (calf). Both players will undergo late fitness tests on Tuesday morning.

Brentford 0-2 Swansea
Two moments of class from Leon Knight were enough to seal the points for Swansea as they ended Brentford's unbeaten start to the season. The livewire striker pounced either side of the break to seal the points in an end-to-end thriller at Griffin Park. First Knight drilled a low drive inside the far post from 18 yards, then cut inside to fire into the top corner. The visitors could have been further ahead, with Adebayo Akinfenwa and Leon Britton both hitting the woodwork. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brentford: Nelson, O'Connor, Tillen (Osborne 45), Heywood, Griffiths, Pinault, Brooker, Cox (Willock 85), Rhodes (Tomlin 53), Kuffour, Moore. Brentford v Bournemouth
Brentford are sweating on the fitness of top scorer Jo Kuffour as he is struggling with a back problem. Adam Griffiths (hip) is also a doubt and Andy Frampton (ankle) and Oli Skulason (hamstring) are still injured. Bournemouth will be without midfielder Marcus Browning, who begins a three-match ban after his sending-off against Brighton in midweek. But joint caretaker boss Stuart Murdoch says it is \"probably too soon\" for new signing Darren Anderton to feature.

Brentford 0-0 Bournemouth
Bournemouth earned a point from an entertaining draw against in-form Brentford at Griffin Park. Paul Brooker twice went close for the Bees, but he miscued a shot when well placed and then saw a lobbed effort cleared off the line by Neil Young. Gavin Tomlin also forced Cherries keeper Gareth Stewart into a fine save after the break. But the visitors had their chances and Leon Best had a glancing header well saved and then sent a volley just wide. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brentford: Nelson, O'Connor, Heywood, Griffiths (Osborne 70), Tillen, Brooker, Pinault, Cox, Tomlin, Kuffour, Rhodes (Moore 75). Wijnhard and O'Connor boost Bees
Brentford have signed ex-Leeds striker Clyde Wijnhard, 32, on a three-month contract after a trial spell. Wijnhard, who has also played for Huddersfield, Preston, Oldham and Darlington has been without a club since leaving Macclesfield in May. Meanwhile defender Kevin O'Connor, 24, has signed a new three-year deal. \"It's good news on the playing side and because they are senior players, whose experience should be invaluable,\" boss Leroy Rosenior told the club website.

Brentford v Yeovil
Brentford could play defender Adam Griffiths in a protective mask after he broke his nose against Millwall. On-loan midfielder Simon Cox has returned to Reading after fracturing a fibula. Kevin O'Connor (rib) and Thomas Pinault (ankle) remain doubtful. Yeovil have a doubt over Lee Morris (hamstring), with Wayne Gray in line to replace him, but Marcus Stewart is fit. Winger Kevin Cooper has arrived on a month's loan from Cardiff and goes straight into the squad.

Griffin Park plans given go-ahead
Brentford have been given permission to construct a roof over the open Ealing Road end of Griffin Park. The work will cost over £600,000, most of which comes from a grant from the Football Stadium Improvement Fund, and should be completed by the end of May. Managing director Keith Dickens told the club website: \"This is some of the best news our club has had for ages. \"The reality of the situation is that the ink is still drying on the deal and any late setback could have cost us.\" Dickens added: \"The critical issue was should we invest in Griffin Park when we have a vision of building a new stadium? \"We still remain intent on delivering a new stadium, but to secure and build it will take time. The fantastic grant means we can invest in our only major asset right now and put ourselves in a better position from which to move later.\" Dickens also said the work could result in home fans moving to that end of the ground with away supporters returning to the opposite Brook Road end. \"This work gives us more options but we are not decided on this one yet and the idea is to consult our supporters first and take account of what they think.\"
