Bournemouth 1-0 Crewe
Bournemouth manager Sean O'Driscoll won his last game in charge of the Cherries as they scraped past battling Crewe. On-loan striker Leon Best got the only goal of the game with a sharply-taken header from a Stephen Purches cross. Crewe pressed hard for an equaliser, with Michael O'Connor screaming a shot over the bar and and Gary Roberts just failing to connect with a cross-shot. Rodney Jack and Jon Otsemobor both fired wide after the break as Bournemouth hung on for three points. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bournemouth: Stewart, Howe (Gowling 90), Young, Broadhurst, Cummings, Foley (Hollands 84), Browning, Cooper, Purches, Best (Fletcher 84), Hayter. Fletcher not ready for boss role
Bournemouth club captain Steve Fletcher says he is not ready to be considered for the vacant manager's job. Fletcher, 34, told Sir Stanley: \"Friends have been ringing me and asking if I want the job, but it's come too quick. \"I've said I'd like to be a manager one day, and Bournemouth would be the job that I'd want as I feel it's my club. \"But I'm still taking my coaching badges at the moment - I'm doing my Level Two and I'm not ready to give up playing yet. But you never say never.\" Boss Sean O'Driscoll bowed out after Saturday's 1-0 win over Crewe to join Doncaster, having spent nearly 23 years at Dean Court - including 15 as Fletcher's team-mate, coach and manager. Fletcher, who has made nearly 550 appearances for the Cherries, admitted: \"We were shell-shocked when we were told on Friday - I thought he would be here for life, like myself. \"Players speculate as much as the supporters about who the new man might be - it's pointless saying we don't. \"But I'm sure the board will choose somebody who will keep things running smoothly, as we've shown that on our day we're as good as anyone in our league. \"I just hope it's going to be someone who carries on what we've been doing for years, as you couldn't meet a more professional manager than Sean and we wish him all the best. \"He's meticulous in everything he does, and he could go even higher than Doncaster.\"

He will be joined on the sidelines by Adam Hinshelwood (knee), Charlie Oatway (ankle) and Joe Gatting (foot). The game may come too soon for new signing Darren Anderton, who had his first training session with the squad on Monday.

Roach would accept Cherries role
Bournemouth caretaker boss Joe Roach has said he would relish the chance to become the club's new permanent manager if he was offered the chance. Roach told Sir Stanley: \"I've been here for four or five years and I have an affinity with the club. \"Obviously if people think I'm capable of doing the job then I'll do that.\" Roach is the head of youth development and along with goalkeeping coach Stuart Murdoch has been put in temporary charge since Sean O'Driscoll left.

Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth
Eddie Howe's late header gave Bournemouth a deserved point. Steve Foley put the Cherries ahead after 35 minutes, but they then lost Marcus Browning when he was sent off after a clash with Tommy Fraser. Dean Hammond headed Brighton level after 53 minutes and Alex Revell added a second seven minutes later when he fired home Fraser's pass. But Howe scored with 16 minutes left and James Hayter wasted a late chance to give Bournemouth victory. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brighton: Kuipers, Reid (El-Abd 88), Mayo, Lynch, Santos, Frutos, Hammond, Cox, Fraser (Loft 90), Hart (Robinson 71), Revell. Haverson added to Cherries squad
Bournemouth have added former Ipswich trainee Jack Haverson to their squad on non-contract terms. The left-footed defender had a trial spell at Dean Court last season, and was released by Ipswich in the summer. Haverson then linked up with the Cherries again during pre-season, and appeared in several friendlies. Having played in both reserve games so far this season, he has now officially joined the squad and has been allocated shirt number 19.

Brentford v Bournemouth
Brentford are sweating on the fitness of top scorer Jo Kuffour as he is struggling with a back problem. Adam Griffiths (hip) is also a doubt and Andy Frampton (ankle) and Oli Skulason (hamstring) are still injured. Bournemouth will be without midfielder Marcus Browning, who begins a three-match ban after his sending-off against Brighton in midweek. But joint caretaker boss Stuart Murdoch says it is \"probably too soon\" for new signing Darren Anderton to feature.

Brentford 0-0 Bournemouth
Bournemouth earned a point from an entertaining draw against in-form Brentford at Griffin Park. Paul Brooker twice went close for the Bees, but he miscued a shot when well placed and then saw a lobbed effort cleared off the line by Neil Young. Gavin Tomlin also forced Cherries keeper Gareth Stewart into a fine save after the break. But the visitors had their chances and Leon Best had a glancing header well saved and then sent a volley just wide. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brentford: Nelson, O'Connor, Heywood, Griffiths (Osborne 70), Tillen, Brooker, Pinault, Cox, Tomlin, Kuffour, Rhodes (Moore 75). Murdoch relieved as Cherries draw
Stuart Murdoch was relieved after Bournemouth kept Northampton at bay in the 0-0 draw at Dean Court. \"We've come away with a clean sheet and a point - goodness knows how,\" the joint caretaker boss admitted. \"For 70-75 minutes we were, at best, poor. It was unusual for so many players to have an off-night. \"We just didn't perform, although in the last 15 minutes we woke up and started to put some pressure on them, and looked a half-decent side.\"

Murdoch out of Cherries running
Bournemouth caretaker manager Stuart Murdoch has withdrawn his application to fill the post on a permanent basis. Goalkeeping coach Murdoch and head of youth Joe Roach have been working as joint caretaker bosses. But the Cherries issued a statement to say Murdoch opted out of the running after being interviewed on Monday. Bournemouth chairman Abdul Jaffer said: \"I would like to thank Stuart for the marvellous job he has done over the last few weeks.\" Former Derby County boss Phil Brown is believed to be leading the race to take over the Cherries hot-seat.

Murdoch explains Cherries choice
Bournemouth caretaker boss Stuart Murdoch has explained why he pulled out of the race to do the job permanently. Murdoch has been working with Joe Roach as joint caretaker boss. But he told the club website: \"Having been in the job before I recognise it's 24 hours a day, seven days a week for ten and a half months of the year. \"Five years ago I would have jumped at the opportunity but after two years out of the game I realise there are other things in life that are important.\" Former Milton Keynes Dons boss Murdoch joined Bournemouth as their part-time goalkeeping coach in 2005 but took on the caretaker role when Sean O'Driscoll became Doncaster's new manager last month. \"Everyone here has been superb over the last few weeks,\" Murdoch added. \"The players and staff have been great and whoever gets the job will inherit a very professional working set up.\" Former Derby County boss Phil Brown is believed to be leading the race to take over the Cherries hot-seat.

Bond unveiled as Bournemouth boss
Former Newcastle assistant manager Kevin Bond has been unveiled as Bournemouth's new boss. Ex-Cherries skipper Bond has signed a deal until the end of the season. He was sacked by Newcastle last month following allegations in a BBC Panorama programme saying he would consider receiving payments from an agent. But Bond, 49, who was assistant boss at Portsmouth at the time, says he has never been interested in receiving bungs and will fight to clear his name. Bond has beaten Andy Hessenthaler and Phil Brown to the post and replaces Sean O'Driscoll, who quit to take over as manager of Doncaster Rovers four weeks ago. The son of former Bournemouth manager John Bond, Kevin played more than 100 games for the Cherries and has also had two spells as assistant boss to Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth. \"It's an enormous pleasure for me to be back where it all started,\" he said. \"I began my playing career here as an apprentice, and finished it here as a senior player under Harry Redknapp. \"It's a club that's dear to my heart, and to be given the opportunity to start my managerial career here is fantastic, so I'm absolutely delighted. It's the perfect job. KEVIN BOND FACTFILE Born: West Ham, 22.6.1957 Position: Defender Playing career: Bournemouth (apprentice), Norwich, Seattle Sounders, Manchester City, Southampton, Bournemouth, Exeter Coaching career: Manchester City, Stafford Rangers (manager), Portsmouth, Southampton, Newcastle \"I haven't really had a chance to speak to my father yet - although I made him aware of the appointment, and he's absolutely thrilled for me. \"I've got so many memories of my younger days here when he was the manager, the place was really buzzing and if I could replicate that, it would be wonderful.\" Bond - who previously had a spell as manager of non-league Stafford Rangers - has not yet recruited an assistant, but will wait until after Saturday's game at Millwall. He insists he is ready to face the challenge of management - despite the recent events involving the Panorama programme. \"I hoped I would get back quickly - and it's credit to the people at Bournemouth for not taking notice of all the hype,\" he said. \"I know I've never done anything wrong, and you hope the people who know you well, like the people at Bournemouth, have the same faith and disregard the negative stuff.\" Chairman Abdul Jaffer - who was at school with Bond in Bournemouth - added: \"I'm a firm believer in giving people a fair chance, and at the end of the day we went for Kevin on merit.\"

Millwall v Bournemouth
Millwall caretaker-boss Willie Donachie is set to name an unchanged side after three matches unbeaten for the Lions. Derek McInnes and Ali Fuseini are both pushing for starts and Chris Zebroski could come into contention. New Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond will be without Eddie Howe and Shaun Cooper for his first game in charge, as they are both suffering with knee problems. Darren Anderton (knee) was injured last weekend but trained on Thursday, while Lionel Ainsworth (shoulder) is a doubt.
