Cherries hit by keeper injuries
Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond may have to search for a keeper before Tuesday's game with Luton after both his senior goalkeepers were injured within a week. Neil Moss will miss up to three months after breaking his wrist last week. And his deputy Gareth Stewart limped off in Saturday's 4-1 home defeat by Southend, when he was replaced by untried youth team keeper Ryan Pryce. "Gareth's pulled a muscle, and it's highly unlikely he's going to be available for Tuesday," Bond said. "I need to speak to Gareth, the physio and the chairman. "With all due respect to Prycey, if Gareth's struggling then I'd like to be able to bring in an experienced goalkeeper."

Hollands stands up for boss Bond
Bournemouth midfielder Danny Hollands insists the club's unhappy fans should direct their anger at the players and not manager Kevin Bond. The Dorset side are rooted to the bottom of League One and have the threat of administration looming. But Hollands says chants towards his manager are unjustified, following the 4-1 home defeat by Southend. He told SSB: "It's a bit unfair towards the gaffer. There are 11 players out there." Bournemouth would face almost certain relegation if they opt to enter administration. The club have taken out a second Notice of Intention to appoint an administrator. If they do pursue that route, which would help ease debts of more than £4m, they will immediately be docked 10 points.

Cherries dispute Revenue petition
Bournemouth are to ask HM Revenue & Customs to withdraw a winding-up petition set for 12 March. The club is believed to be about £4m in debt but SSB understands there are discussions ongoing with parties committed to its long-term future. Chairman Jeff Mostyn said he was "extremely disappointed" by the Revenue's stance. He accused them of issuing the petition "without consultation or negotiation over a reduced settlement". Mostyn added: "A further notice of intent to appoint an administrator was lodged and accepted by the High Court on Monday, 4 February. "In the circumstances, HMRC will be asked to withdraw their petition." "I would once again like to assure all supporters that I am working non-stop to bring my negotiations with both investors and individuals interested in purchasing the club to a satisfactory conclusion." Bournemouth are currently third from bottom of League One and keen to stave off the threat of administration, a move which would result in them being deducted 10 points by the Football League. The notice of intent to appoint an administrator - the third such notice lodged since mid-January - gives the club a period of protection from their creditors.

Bournemouth enter administration
Struggling Bournemouth have gone into administration and will be docked 10 points, reports SSB. Bournemouth's debts are believed to total around £4m and the points deduction will send them to the foot of the League One table. A press conference has been called for Friday where chairman Jeff Mostyn is expected to detail the club's plight. Business recovery specialists Begbies Traynor have been appointed as the club's administrators. The club were handed a winding-up petition by HM Revenue & Custom earlier this week but they disputed the situation. Although SSB understands there are ongoing discussions with parties committed to its long-term future, Bournemouth have had no choice but to enter into administration. Bournemouth are currently third from bottom of League One and face fellow strugglers Luton on Saturday. The club made five members of staff redundant on Wednesday as part of its cost cutting.

Redknapp pledges to help Cherries
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has promised to help save his old club Bournemouth, who are in administration with debts of around £4m. Redknapp, who spent nine years as Cherries boss, said: "I know some people there with money who I'm sure would be interested in taking it on. "It's a great little club, which means a lot to me. "I have always said I would do what I could for Bournemouth and there's no way I'll see them go out of business." Redknapp made over 100 appearances for Bournemouth as a player in the early 1970s under the management of John Bond - father of current Cherries boss Kevin Bond. Bond junior played under Redknapp at Dean Court, and subsequently served on his coaching staff at both Portsmouth and Southampton. Redknapp, who still lives near Bournemouth in the affluent area of Sandbanks, has previously hinted that he would be interested in buying his old club "one day". However, he conceded that there could be a problem with regulations over a contract of interest if he invested in the club while still manager of Pompey. "If a consortium was put together and wanted me to be an investor, I would do it, yes," he said. "I don't know how that would sit with League rules. I could put my son in, couldn't I? "Hopefully, somebody else will do it, but if a consortium came to me and I knew they were good fellows who had the club at heart, I would get involved. "I've also spoken to the chairman (Jeff Mostyn) and it seems that raising about £1m initially will keep them going. "Bournemouth certainly need a league team. They have still been getting 5,000-6,000 gates even when they've been in trouble." Redknapp's friend and fellow Sandbanks resident Eddie Mitchell, owner of Blue Square South side Dorchester Town, has already declared that he is interested in buying the club.

Mostyn makes bid for Bournemouth
Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn has emerged as the only bidder wishing to take control of the club. Mostyn's consortium of Cherries director Steven Sly and international businessman Mark Jackson have "tabled a seven-figure sum". Administrator Gerald Krasner told SSB: "The final figure is dependent on whether the Company Voluntary Arrangement is approved." The club plan to meet their creditors on Monday, 7 April.

Cherries takeover bid collapses
Bournemouth's administrator Gerald Krasner has revealed that preferred bidders EU UK Ltd have withdrawn their bid to buy the League One club. Krasner had announced last week that a consortium - later unveiled as EU UK Ltd - had made a successful bid and had until Monday to complete the purchase. However, they withdrew after Krasner asked them to deposit funds in order to be given an extension to the deadline. Krasner is now set to meet another potential bidder on Tuesday. However, he has warned that he may have to sell players if no new deal has materialised by the end of the week. Krasner told SSB: "The bidder was due to lodge the money by 1700 BST today which they haven't. "Over the weekend they asked for an extension - I said if they lodged the money even if it was to their order, and released me enough to do some funding, they could have the extension until 22 April. "They seemed to be upset at this and have withdrawn their offer. I am now talking to one and a half people - I know what that means! - about putting in a bid and I'll be seeing part of them on Tuesday. "If I get nowhere this week I will seriously review player sales. If there's no bid on the horizon, the club should start worrying about folding at the end of this week." BOURNEMOUTH IN CRISIS 8 February: Club enters administration and are deducted 10 points 13 March: Chairman Jeff Mostyn's consortium's bid accepted, subject to CVA 1 April: Marc Jackson splits with Mostyn's group. Bid is withdrawn. 7 April: Two new bids tabled - one from Mostyn, one from a group fronted by Jackson 8 April: Mostyn bid initially accepted, but then Jackson group's bid announced as preferred bidders with 14 April deadline to buy club 10 April: Jackson's group revealed as EU UK Ltd 14 April: EU UK Ltd withdraw bid to buy club Bournemouth, who have debts of around £4m, have been in administration since early February - a move which cost them a mandatory 10-point deduction, and may be a crucial factor as they battle to avoid relegation to League Two. The Cherries are currently six points from safety with just three games remaining. Krasner had originally accepted in principle a bid from a consortium led by current club chairman Jeff Mostyn, and also containing vice-chairman Steve Sly and businessman Marc Jackson - subject to a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA). But before that bid could be put to a creditors' vote, the bid was withdrawn when Jackson left the consortium. Two fresh bids - one from Mostyn and Sly, and another fronted by Jackson - later revealed to be the EU UK Ltd bid - were then submitted. Last week, the administrators initially announced in a press release that Mostyn's group had won the bidding - only to announce later that day that Jackson's group had won. However, Jackson is no longer involved with EU UK Ltd - whose four directors include former football agent Ian Mathison and fellow directors John Frost, Gary Oates and Simon Jordan. Mathison and Frost were unveiled to the media at a news conference last Thursday, having distanced themselves from Jackson.

Cherries keeper forced to retire
Bournemouth goalkeeper Neil Moss has announced his immediate retirement from professional football. The 33-year-old suffered a broken wrist in January, and has been advised by surgeons to hang up his gloves. Moss - who started and now finishes his career with the Cherries - also had seven years at Southampton. He told Radio Solent: "It was the news I was expecting, but not hoping for, obviously. The operation to repair it (my wrist) wasn't successful." Moss's retirement leaves Cherries boss Kevin Bond with only teenage rookie goalkeeper Ryan Pryce, after Gareth Stewart was released at the end of last season.

Rovers close in on Kuffour deal
Bristol Rovers hope to complete the signing of striker Jo Kuffour after agreeing a fee with Bournemouth. The deal has been held up because Kuffour, 26, had flu last week, but first-team coach Paul Trollope will speak to the player this week. "We believe Jo and his agent are coming down on Tuesday or Wednesday to hopefully tie things up," Trollope told BBC Radio Bristol. Meanwhile Aaron Lescott and Stuart Campbell have agreed deals until 2010. "They've both signed for another year so have two years left," Trollope added. "Both have played huge parts in the last few years, and I think Aaron was part of a group of players who kept us in the football league. "They deserve it, because they have been consistent performers in the first team, and they set an excellent example both on and off the pitch."

Cherries close in on loan pair
Bournemouth are set to complete the loan signings of strikers Blair Sturrock from Swindon and Hereford's Trevor Benjamin. Radio Solent understands Sturrock is poised to pen a one-month deal at Dean Court in time for the weekend visit of Darlington. Bournemouth would be Benjamin's 17th senior club. He scored 10 league goals for Hereford last season. Cherries boss Jimmy Quinn has allowed loan winger Scott Wagstaff to leave.

Cherries plans nearing completion
Bournemouth are moving closer to announcing their ambitious stadium development plans at Dean Court. The Cherries are working with the town's council, on a project involving a new South Stand, and leisure facilities on the adjoining Kings Park. Chief executive Alastair Saverimutto told Radio Solent: "We've got a meeting with the council next week, and I'm confident we can get it through. "The council are right behind what we are proposing. It's very exciting." He added: "The south end of the ground hasn't got a stand on it, and there's also a lot of open space behind it where there are footprints for development. "This will benefit not only the football club, but also the local community too."

Cherries priced out of Beavon bid
League Two strugglers Bournemouth have cooled their interest in signing Weymouth's transfer-listed striker Stuart Beavon. The former Didcot frontman is out of contract at the Wessex Stadium at the end of the season and was put up for sale by the Terras last week. "Stuart is a good player, but Weymouth are asking too much for him," Cherries boss Jimmy Quinn told Radio Solent. "They want to get him off the wage bill, but we can't pay a fee." Weymouth chairman Malcolm Curtis said: "If someone is prepared to make a serious offer for Stuart, and I mean serious offer, then we'd be foolish not to look at it. "If they don't, then the board will be more than happy to re-negotiate with him. He's a popular lad, and we'd be sad to see him go. "You've got to look to maximise your assets though, and do what's right for the football club." The 24-year-old, who joined the Terras in 2007, has scored four goals in 14 games this season.

Juanjo eyes Bournemouth contract
Bournemouth trialist Juanjo says he would love to join the Cherries fight against relegation. The 31-year-old impressed in a reserve outing on Tuesday and has been invited to extend his stay by boss Eddie Howe. "I would love to come here. It's a lovely stadium, a lovely town and people speak highly of the club," Juanjo told the Bournemouth Daily Echo. "I know the game here, I've probably played more in the UK than Spain. It's physical, but I think my game suits." He added: "It was a really enjoyable game in spells and I felt I did quite well on the ball. "I hope the people who were watching saw what I could do."

Howe wants to add depth to squad
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe remains optimistic that he will be able to strengthen his squad before the end of the transfer window. Howe, who has been in charge since New Year's Eve, said: "I would like to add to a couple of areas to bring more competition for places. "Then if we get more injuries, we have people to come in and do a job. "We are working on a couple of things but if they do not come off then it will not be the end of the world." Spurs keeper David Button, Jake Thomson from Southampton and Crystal Palace defender Rhoys Wiggins have already joined the Cherries this month on loan.

Thomson loan halted by officials
Bournemouth's application to extend the loan of Southampton winger Jake Thomson for a second month has been refused. All the club's signings, including loans, have to be ratified by the Football League as a condition of the club's exit from administration. Boss Eddie Howe told BBC Solent: "It's a blow because he's done really well. He's starting to show what he's about - he was a real threat on Saturday." An agreement had been agreed between the two clubs earlier this week.
