Weymouth eye Cherries' Browning
Weymouth are interested in signing Bournemouth midfielder Marcus Browning. The 36-year-old ex-Huddersfield and Gillingham player is a former team-mate of Terras player-boss Jason Tindall. Browning played for Weymouth when he arrived on loan from Bristol Rovers in 1991-92 and scored four goals in five games for the Terras. Tindall said: "Marcus would be a great signing for us. Bournemouth have not released him but said, due to finances, they may reassess the situation."

Sheringham Cherries link denied
Veteran striker Teddy Sheringham will not be joining League One side Bournemouth, according to his agent. Newspaper reports had claimed that the 41-year-old, who has been released by West Ham, wanted to continue his career at Dean Court. However, his agent Barry Neville told SSB: "There have been no discussions with Bournemouth and there is no offer on the table from them. "We're currently talking to teams in America and other countries." Neville added: "There is no guarantee Teddy will stay in England. It is still very early days." Sheringham knows Cherries boss Kevin Bond from their time together at Portsmouth, where Bond was assistant to Harry Redknapp.

Cherries want more from Anderton
Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond says he has given midfielder Darren Anderton the captaincy to try and get more out of the former England international. Bond said: "I picked Darren because Neil Young and Paul Telfer are leaders by nature. "I think I can get a bit more from Darren vocally and in leadership. "I had nothing to gain making Young or Telfer captain. They will give you those leadership qualities whether they are captain or not."

Bond calls for home improvement
Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond wants his side to be more dominant at Dean Court after they lost 1-0 to Port Vale. "When I look at the shape of our side, I sometimes thinks it seems to suit us to be away from home," he said. "When we were expected to be under pressure at Doncaster or Forest, we got men behind the ball and defended well. "But in the home games, we haven't been able to impose ourselves. Vale got a lot of the ball, which you don?t want at home - our front two were isolated."

Cherries star Cummings breaks arm
Bournemouth defender Warren Cummings suffered a broken arm in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Northampton at Dean Court. The left-back, 26, had come on as a substitute just after the interval after Russell Perrett suffered a suspected torn hamstring. But Cummings only lasted 13 minutes before he fell awkwardly on his left side, and had to be helped off. To add to boss Kevin Bond's injury woes, defender Ryan Garry was taken to hospital for an X-ray on a leg injury. Cummings was previously sidelined between March 2005 and August 2006 with a broken leg, but returned to make 33 appearances last season, signed a new contract in the summer and has featured in every game this season.

Bournemouth sign Pompey's Wilson
Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond has completed the signing of Mark Wilson on a month's loan from Portsmouth. The versatile youngster, 20, had a successful spell with the club towards the end of last season. Wilson can play anywhere across the back in defence and also in midfield and will provided several options for the Cherries boss. Meanwhile assistant manager Rob Newman has been registered as a player on an emergency basis only.

Bond is relieved after narrow win
Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond admitted his side "didn't deserve to win" after they narrowly beat non-league side Barrow 3-2 in their FA Cup replay. "With it being so late in the game, we were expecting it to go to penalties, but it turned for us right at the death," Bond said. "So we're just thankful and grateful to be in the next round. "Barrow pushed us all the way - their front two were a handful - and we looked tired, jaded and nervous." The Cherries manager was also left to reflect on the aftermath of the award of the penalty from which Max Gradel equalised to force extra time - after an on-pitch argument with team-mate Brett Pitman over who should take the spot-kick "Brett was going to be our penalty-taker, and Max knows that," Bond explained. "To be fair, Max only showed up at half past five - I hadn't seen him since we played Crewe (on 6 October) as he'd been on compassionate leave after his mother died. "He'd flown in from France, I didn't know what to expect from him, but he said he felt up for it. He's done a miracle to play. "There's no way I would have played him under normal circumstances, or Warren Cummings who hasn't had a reserve game - but we had to because of the (injury) situation we're in. "We all know why Max wanted to take the penalty - he's an impetuous young man, he knew it wasn't his job, but what can you do? "I was just thankful that it went in the back of the net. "From a confidence point of view, we've been smashed to pieces tonight."

Bournemouth snap up QPR defender
Bournemouth have signed Queens Park Rangers defender Dominic Shimmin on loan, reports SSB. The 20-year-old completed his loan move - which will run until 1 January - before Thursday's Football League deadline for loan signings. The former Arsenal trainee has made four league and cup appearances for QPR, but he has not featured for their first team this season. He goes straight into the Cherries squad for Saturday's game with Oldham.

Young extends Weymouth loan stay

The Cherries will retain a 24-hour recall clause on the 34-year-old, who has made five appearances for Weymouth since joining them last month. Bournemouth ponder administration
Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn has refused to rule out entering the club into administration, despite holding talks with potential new investors. SSB understands that they could be placed into administration, to help clear debts of around £4m. Mostyn told the club website: "If I felt administration was in the club's best interests I would consider it. "But we are confident that next week's meeting with potential investors will result in a firm proposal being made." With debts cleared, potential new investors would have a clean slate from which to start from. A string of poor results have left the Cherries struggling at the bottom of League One and a 10-point penalty for going into administration would leave them 11 points adrift of Port Vale who are currently bottom. Mostyn added: "We are in advanced talks with potential investors and during the past two weeks we have met to discuss a number of options. "The financial position of the club is no different to the vast majority of clubs in the Football League and this has been clearly demonstrated at Luton and Coventry." Luton went into administration in November and are one point ahead of Bournemouth after their 10-point deduction. On Monday, Coventry's board announced its intention of taking the club into administration but are hopeful of completing a takeover offer from Ray Ranson and Sisu Capital.

Injury blow for defender Gowling
Bournemouth defender Josh Gowling faces another three to four weeks out following a scan on his calf injury. The scan showed the injury, picked up in training last Monday, that has already kept him out of the last two games was worse than first thought. Bournemouth are struggling at the foot of League One and will be desperate for Gowling, 22, to make a swift return. However, fellow centre-back Russell Perrett has returned to full training after an injury-plagued campaign.

Bond relieved as winless run ends
Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond was naturally relieved after they beat Gillingham 1-0 - their first home league victory of the season. "It's only three points, but we needed them badly. The fact we hadn't won at home made it more important," he said. "Neil Young was like the Neil Young of old - he was a calming influence, and put on a real captain's display. "Sam Vokes also did well. His all-round game has come on leaps and bounds, and he's only going to improve." Bond also explained why substitute Jem Karacan needed to be replaced himself after he collapsed to the turf in stoppage time. "He got a ball in the face which he didn't know was coming to him, and I believe it knocked him out," Bond added. "He wasn't sure where he was for a couple of minutes, but he brushed himself down in the dressing-room and hopefully he'll be ready to go again next week."

Bond furious after latest defeat
Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond called his side's 3-2 defeat a disgrace after conceding in injury time to Brighton. "It was all of our own making and we brought about our own downfall," the Cherries boss fumed. "We fought hard to get back into the game and deserved to get back into it but gave away the most diabolical of goals in the last seconds. "For the umpteenth time we didn't defend a set-piece. It was nothing short of disgraceful."

Bournemouth re-sign Foxes' Gradel
Bournemouth have re-signed Leicester's Ivory Coast-born winger Max Gradel on loan for the rest of the season. Gradel, 20, had scored five goals in 19 appearances after joining the Cherries for the first half of the campaign. Although Bournemouth have beaten off Crewe for his signature, he did not sign in time to feature in Saturday's League One match at Cheltenham. But midfielder Jo Tessem can play in that game after receiving international clearance for his move from Norway.
