Cork would relish Cherries return
Chelsea midfielder Jack Cork would relish the chance to rejoin Bournemouth on loan in the January transfer window. Cork and defender Ryan Bertrand, both 17, have returned to Chelsea this week after a month on loan at Dean Court. \"Hopefully if the gaffer speaks to Chelsea, something can be sorted out for January as I'd love to come back here,\" Cork told SSB. \"I don't really want to leave as the staff and players have been so good to me, and I've really enjoyed it.\" Cork and Bertrand made six league and cup appearances during their month with the Cherries, and helped them to a memorable 2-0 win over leaders Nottingham Forest on Tuesday. \"With points at stake, League One's obviously more physical than reserve football,\" England Under-18 international Cork added. \"But it was great to get three points against Forest as we had three 17-year-olds in the side and did really well against a very experienced team. \"You play against some big names in the reserves at Chelsea, so I've just got to get on with my job and hopefully I'll get out again soon.\"

Bournemouth manager rues bad luck
Manager Kevin Bond believes luck has not been on his side since he took over at Bournemouth in October. He has only won two league and cup games in the 12 matches he has been in charge at Dean Court. Bond told SSB: \"I'm not really a believer in the saying that it all luck evens itself out at the end of the season. \"Because at this moment in time it doesn't appear that way at all. Things just seem to be going against us.\" Bond added: \"It doesn't help when you get awarded a penalty against you in the third minute of extra time in the FA cup game with Bristol and only two minutes were given.\"

Gillingham v Bournemouth
Gillingham are without Clint Easton and Kelvin Jack, so Danny Jackman and Dean Brill are set to step in. If they revert to 4-4-2, one of Ben Chorley, Ian Cox or Brent Sancho could miss out, with Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu or Dean McDonald likely to come in. Bournemouth strikers James Hayter and Steve Fletcher shook off knocks to play on Tuesday and are available again. Simon Gillett and Steve Claridge return after being ineligible for the FA Cup but Steven Foley (back) is out.

Howe to look after reserve team
Bournemouth defender Eddie Howe is appointed player-coach and will take control of the Cherries' reserve team. Howe, 29, will take up the position immediately and will continue to play on at the heart of the defence. The move increases the club's coaching capacity with Kevin Bond and Rob Newman looking after first team affairs. Alan Knight was recently drafted in on a part-time basis to look after the goalkeepers and Joe Roach is committed to his post as Head of Youth.

Torquay sign winger Cooke on loan
Torquay have signed Bournemouth winger Stephen Cooke on loan until the end of the season. Cooke, 23, has not figured for the Cherries since October and was one of a number of fringe players boss Kevin Bond was keen to loan out. The former Aston Villa youngster, who has been at Dean Court since July, 2005 after two earlier loan spells, will aid the Gulls bid to stay in the League. He becomes new coach Colin Lee's second signing for the club.

Bournemouth set to sign Vidarsson
Bournemouth are set to sign teenage winger Bjarni Vidarsson on a month's loan from Premiership side Everton. The 18-year-old joined the Toffees from club side FH in his native Iceland in 2004, but has not yet made a competitive appearance for them. However, he scored Everton's equaliser against Bournemouth when the sides met in a friendly at Dean Court last month, which finished in a 1-1 draw. Cherries boss Kevin Bond says the deal will be completed before the weekend.

Walker ends loan with Bournemouth
Midfielder Josh Walker has completed his loan spell with Bournemouth and returned to Middlesbrough. Walker, 18, played six games during his month with the Cherries. "He expressed in joining us again if Middlesbrough were interested. So that says something about how much he has enjoyed it."

Cherries extend McGoldrick loan
Bournemouth have extended Southampton striker David McGoldrick's loan spell for the remainder of the season. McGoldrick's second month at Dean Court was due to expire after Saturday's away game at Nottingham Forest. However, he will now be available to manager Kevin Bond for their final two league games of the season. The 19-year-old has helped the Cherries move away from the League One relegation zone by scoring six goals in 11 games since arriving in February. However, Bond has received a blow after learning that midfielder Darren Anderton's groin strain will keep him out of the next two games, against Forest and Gillingham. Bond will hope that the ex-England international, who had to come off during Saturday's 2-2 draw, may return in time for their final game at Port Vale on 5 May if the Cherries are not safe from relegation by then.

Saints boss George Burley is missing six first-team players through injury and wants the 19-year as cover. Burley has used a 24-hour recall option to get the teenager back thus ending his successful two-month loan period with Bournemouth. McGoldrick scored six goals in 12 games to help steer the Cherries away from the League One relegation zone.

Anderton signs Bournemouth deal
Former England international Darren Anderton has signed a new 12-month contract at Bournemouth. The midfielder, 35, made 31 appearances for the Cherries after joining in September and played a key role as they won their battle to avoid relegation. Anderton, who won 30 England caps, hit six goals for Bournemouth and was also named the supporters' player of the year at Dean Court. "It's terrific news for everybody at the club," boss Kevin Bond said. Southampton-born Anderton has also played for Portsmouth, Tottenham, Birmingham and Wolves.

Fletcher to take time on offers
Former Bournemouth club captain Steve Fletcher says he will not be rushing to accept offers that have been made. The 34-year-old was released by the Cherries this month after 15 years at Dean Court, and stated his desire to continue his playing career. Fletcher told SSB: "I've had a few offers from league clubs, some very good offers in fact. "Some are far afield, some are closer to home in Bournemouth. I'm just reviewing them." He added: "It's great to have league clubs interested, but I don't want to jump in straight away two-footed and maybe regret the decision, so I'm just holding fire at the moment. "Some people I've spoken to have said to wait until pre-season starts and more clubs will come in." Meanwhile, Bournemouth are continuing negotiations with defenders Warren Cummings, Neil Young and Steve Purches, who are considering contract offers.
