Bohemians run riot against Rhyl
Bohemians came from behind after the break to run riot with a 5-1 Intertoto Cup first-round home win against Rhyl. The Welsh side went ahead in the 25th minute when Ken Oman deflected Mark Connolly's effort into his own goal. Jason Byrne equalised from a free-kick in the 52nd minute, with Owen Heary heading the hosts ahead on the hour Killian Brennan's penalty made it 3-1, Neale Feenan added a fourth, before substitute Glen Crowe heaped more misery on the Welsh side. It means the Irish side have a big advantage to take into the return leg against their Welsh Premier opponents at Belle Vue next weekend. If Bohemians do close out the tie Latvia's FK Riga or Iceland's Fylkir await the winners in the second round, with Scotland's Hibernian potential third-round opponents. The 11 successful teams from Intertoto Cup qualifying will go on to enter the second qualifying round of the Uefa Cup.
