Blades lead chase for Brill
SHEFFIELD United have claimed pole position in the race to capture Luton Town goalkeeper Dean Brill.
The 22-year-old, rated as one of the most promising youngsters in the Football League, is understood to favour a move to Bryan Robson's side, ahead of Hull City and Queens Park Rangers, after discussing the matter with outgoing Kenilworth Road chief Kevin Blackwell.
Blackwell served as United's assistant manager between 1999 and 2003.
As The Star confirmed yesterday, Brill is being courted by at least three Championship clubs as the financially-stricken League One outfit prepare to offload their assets in an attempt to stave off the threat of extinction.
