Bhatia quits QPR post
Amit Bhatia has announced his resignation as vice chairman of QPR after falling out with the club's board over their recent hike in season ticket prices. Having secured promotion to the Premier League, the Loftus Road club announced their pricing structure of the coming campaign, which included a hike of up to 40 per cent in some areas. The investment of Bernie Ecclestone, Flavio Briatore and Lakshmi Mittal has transformed the club in recent seasons, with Bhatia brought onto the board and acting as a representative of the Mittal family. But Bhatia has now announced he will be leaving the West London club as he is unhappy with the proposed future direction of the club, and in particular the season ticket spike and recent decision to part with CEO Ishan Saksena. Vision A statement from Bhatia read: "It is with a heavy heart that I tender my resignation as vice chairman of Queens Park Rangers football club. It has been a great honour to serve this club for the last three years. "Although there have been challenges, the last 15 months have been a period of stability and success and it gives me great pleasure to see Queens Park Rangers back in the Premier League where I feel the club belongs. "It is very clear to me from recent board meetings that my vision, strategy and direction for the club is very different from that of the other shareholders and board members. "The recent decision to sack the CEO Ishan Saksena and significantly increase season ticket prices are just two of the decisions I disagree with."
