Beckham in talks over Milan loan
England midfielder David Beckham is holding talks with Los Angeles Galaxy over a return to AC Milan on loan.
Beckham, 34, spent a successful five-month loan spell with Milan last season and a return would help him stay fit as he looks to play in the 2010 World Cup.
"He's in conversation with the LA Galaxy about doing a loan again and discussing coming back," said Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber.
"It hasn't been finalised yet but I know he's interested in joining Milan."
In an interview with the Mail on Sunday, Beckham said he's relishing a return to Italy.
"There are other options available, but none that will stop me going to Milan," Beckham told the paper. "It is close to being finalised."
Beckham is midway through a five-year deal with LA Galaxy but wants a new club while the MLS season is closed between November and March.
"David has been an important part of the history of MLS and we'd love to have him continue his commitment to the league," added Garber, referring to Beckham returning to the United States after the World Cup.
"We hope that the Galaxy and David can reach some agreement that makes sense for David, the Galaxy and Major League Soccer."
On Sunday, England coach Fabio Capello is due to announce his squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine on 10 October and Belarus four days later.
Beckham has been a member of Capello's squad during the successful World Cup qualifying campaign, though he has usually been used as a substitute.
