Fairclough is given Kerr warning Scarborough chairman Malcolm Reynolds has warned England non-league boss Paul Fairclough not to use his position to try to sign Boro's Scott Kerr.
Boro have already turned down several approaches from Fairclough's club Barnet for the 23-year-old midfielder.
Kerr is in the national squad currently playing in the Four Nations Tournament.
"Clearly it would be wrong for the manager of any international side to use that role to further his club's player recruitment," Reynolds said.
Reynolds is also unhappy over reported remarks from Fairclough's regarding Scarborough's use of Kerr in their side this season.
And the chairman insists that the Seasiders will not let their captain, who is yet to sign a new deal, leave without a fight.
Reynolds said: "Scott is central to our plans for next season and consequently we have already made him an improved offer to renew his contract.
"Scott is under 24 and we would therefore be entitled to a transfer fee should he leave us for another club.
"Should we need to use a tribunal to establish a transfer fee, then any illegal approaches by another club are likely to count against that club at the tribunal.
"My sincere hope is that Scott leads the team out on 13 August, but our pre-season preparations will not be helped by this speculation."

Fairclough to keep England post England National Game XI boss Paul Fairclough says he is staying in the job despite also being a Football League manager with promoted Barnet.
He is adamant he can fill both posts despite no longer being on the Conference scene.
"I'm definitely going to continue," Fairclough told BBC Sport. "I have done a lot of work with that team.
"I enjoy it and I believe I can. I have got the integrity to carry on doing it, and I have the scouting network too."
Fairclough led England to victory in the Four Nations in Ireland this summer, and has more plans on the international semi-professional scene in the pipeline.
"I've been pushing us towards a new Under-23 European tournament," he added. "It is a Uefa backed event we have actually got off the ground and it is going to start this season.
"It begins in November and has ourselves, Holland, Italy and Belgium in it.
"We have decided to start it very small. It will run over 15 months, we will play each other once and there will be a winner on a League basis.
"I'm so excited by that. It's taken a lot of hard work to make it happen and I don't not want to do it."
Fairclough has been in charge of England since 2003 and believes the presence of an international side is of huge benefit for non-league players, not least for putting them in the shop window.
"It works," he said. "Every player who was in our squad that won in Ireland is going to be playing in the Football League next year.
"All my players - five of them - have gone up with Barnet, and among others DJ Campbell has gone to Brentford and my captain Scott Kerr has gone to Lincoln."
