BALANTA EYEING FIRST-TEAM RETURN
Hoops rookie Angelo Balanta put himself in the frame for a return to the first team at Wolves with a goal for the reserves against Southampton.
The Colombian-born 17-year-old striker fired Rangers ahead when he ran clear and neatly tucked the ball home from 15 yards.
Balanta has made six appearances for the first team this season and bagged his first senior goal in the recent 1-1 draw with Sheffield United.
Another plus for Rangers was the performance of recent signing Matt Pickens in goal.
The American pulled off three excellent saves, although he could do nothing about Cedric Baseya's equaliser as Saints earned a 1-1 draw at Loftus Road.
