Atletico Madrid v Liverpool
Liverpool will be without striker Fernando Torres (hamstring), but Ryan Babel has travelled with the squad and could return from his ankle injury. Centre-back Martin Skrtel (knee ligaments) is also definitely missing for Liverpool's trip to Madrid. But midfielder Javier Mascherano could return for the Reds. Liverpool also have minor concerns over midfielders Steven Gerrard and Yossi Benayoun, as well as forward Robbie Keane, but all three should be fit. Meanwhile Liverpool keeper Jose Reina has warned that the threat posed by Atletico Madrid is not limited to their strikers Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan. Last season the duo were prolific and have netted nine times this term but Reina says there are further dangers. "Forlan and Aguero are two great players. But it's not only them, Florent Sinama-Pongolle is also going through a great spell," Reina said. "As well as that, the centre midfielders create a lot of chances." Reina, whose father played for Atletico in the 1970s, has been at Liverpool for the last three years having previously played for Barcelona and Villarreal in Spain. "I have many memories of this club," he said, "but it is clear that I will defend my shirt and we will go out and give it everything." Atletico will be buoyed by Uefa's decision to temporarily lift a two-game ban to play at their home stadium after crowd trouble against Marseille earlier in the competition. England recently objected to playing a friendly against Spain at Real Madrid's Bernabeu stadium because of concerns over racist abuse. But Reina insisted: "There is no problem with racism . Spain is not a racist country and Madrid is not a racist city." Both Atletico and Liverpool boast 100% records in Group D having each beaten PSV Eindhoven and Marseille in their opening two matches. The next two rounds of fixtures sees Liverpool and Atletico meet each other home and away.
