Argyle frozen out at QPR
PLYMOUTH Argyle fixture at QPR has been called off because of a frozen pitch.
Despite having undersoil heating at the Loftus Road pitch, the 3pm kick-off against Queen's Park Rangers has now been called off for safety reason.
Argyle now join a growing list of weather-related sporting cancellations, which includes football's Torquay United and Yeovil Town and rugby's Exeter Chiefs, Plymouth Albion, Cornish Pirates, Cornish All Blacks and Redruth Reds.
Exeter City, who have a League One match at Norwich City, is still scheduled to go ahead at the moment.
Norwich have not been obliged to call off a first-team match due to a frozen pitch since their heating system was installed in 1993, and Exeter City's players are setting from Devon at 9am today for the long journey to Norfolk.
Meanwhile, the Cornish Pirates had hoped to play Sunday's home fixture with London Welsh at either the Camborne Recreation Ground orMennaye Field in Penzance if necessary.
But a final pitch inspection took place at 9.30am this morning before the decision to postpone the match was made.
