Another loan bid fails
John Gregory has revealed that QPR have failed in an attempt to sign midfielder Lassana Diarra on loan from Chelsea.
The R's have already brought in youngsters Jimmy Smith and Michael Mancienne from Stamford Bridge on loan and were keen to add Diarra to their squad during January's transfer window.
But the 21-year-old, who has made just two starts for the Chelsea first-team, rejected a switch to Loftus Road and leaves Gregory now looking for an alternative signing.
The QPR boss revealed: \"We tried, but I don't think Diarra wants to play in the Championship. I think he will go on loan to another Premiership club.
\"I think Diarra feels he is better than that (playing in the Championship) - which he probably is. He is an outstanding young player.\"
