Aluko hat-trick puts Charlton top
Eni Aluko hit a 13-minute hat-trick as Charlton beat Fulham 7-2 to draw level on points with leaders Arsenal at the top of the Women's Premier League.
Six days before England's make-or-break World Cup qualifier against France, national team coach Hope Powell would have been delighted with Aluko's form.
The 19-year-old has now netted seven goals in her last three outings.
Meanwhile, Amanda Barr scored twice for Blackburn to help them to a 5-4 win over Bristol Academy.
Fulham 2-7 Charlton Athletic
The Cottagers held on for almost an hour but were then sunk under an Aluko-inspired Charlton goal deluge.
Former Addicks winger Daniella Farmer hit an 18th-minute equaliser after striker Sarah Snare had given the visitors a fifth-minute lead.
Goals either side of half-time by central defender Karen Hills and Snare seemed to have put Charlton on the way but striker Amy Ram reduced the arrears in the 52nd minute.
However, four minutes later Aluko began her very own goal blitz to put the result beyond doubt. Substitute Natasha Hughes completed the scoring six minutes from time.
Blackburn Rovers 4-5 Bristol Academy
Winger Shelley Cox hit a late winner as Academy collected their first points of the season.
Karen-Ann Nolan-Evans had given the visitors a 13th-minute lead in what turned out to be a rollercoaster of a match.
Katie Anderton equalised 60 seconds later, only for Justine Lorton to put Academy back in front on the stroke of half-time.
Nolan-Evans increased the lead six minutes into the second half, then Stef Curtis made it 4-1 just after the hour.
Rovers hit back strongly, Anderton hitting her second goal in the 66th minute before Barr brought the scores level with strikes in the 72nd and 79th minutes.
Both sides went all out for a winner but it was Cox who did the trick for Academy four minutes from time.
