Aldershot keen to land Holloway
Aldershot boss Terry Brown has added Tiverton Town midfielder Chris Holloway to his list of summer transfer targets. Brown is understood to have offered Holloway, who is out of contract at Tiverton, a deal. Holloway, 26, previously played at Exeter City and last week helped Wales win the Four Nations Tournament. Meanwhile, Shots midfielder David Lee and defender Dave Winfield have both accepted new contract offers and will remain with the club next season.

Shots manager hails Lee comeback
Aldershot boss Terry Brown was delighted to welcome back midfielder David Lee for Saturday's 1-1 friendly draw against Queens Park Rangers. The 26-year-old had not played since breaking his leg last August. \"We planned to give him 30 minutes but couldn't get him off because he wanted to complete the first half,\" Brown told the Shots' website. \"He played 45 minutes, so next time out he will probably play an hour and then he will complete a full 90 minutes.\"

Aldershot confirm Newman capture
Aldershot boss Terry Brown has confirmed the signing of experienced midfielder Ricky Newman. Newman, 35, played 29 League games for Brentford last season, helping the Bees to the play-offs before he was released at the end of the campaign. Brown told Shots website: \"Ricky is to become an Aldershot player and that is great news for the club. \"He is a real battler and organiser who will certainly stand up to be counted, and I'm delighted he's signed.\"

Weymouth v Aldershot
Weymouth have injury problems ahead of their first home game in the top flight of the Conference for 17 years. Defenders Trevor Challis, Roy O'Brien, midfielders Dean Howell, Andy Harris and Shaun Wilkinson and forward Tony James are all sidelined. Aldershot manager Terry Brown is waiting to hear the verdict of the appeal against Ricky Newman's dismissal before naming his team. The shots will definitely be without Andy Edwards, who is injured.

St Albans v Aldershot
Ben Lewis returns for St Albans as they look to build on their impressive start to the season after proving his fitness following a shoulder injury. But his comeback is off-set by Gary Elphick's one-match suspension and Ben Martin looks likely to be ruled out for another month with a cartilage problem. Andy Edwards, a summer signing from Grays, remains Aldershot's only doubt. The defender has been struggling with a back problem but is confident of a return to training within the week.

St Albans 3-5 Aldershot
St Albans' unbeaten start to the season ended as Aldershot ran riot. The Shots went ahead with a Darren Barnard penalty after Ryan Williams was fouled before Ram Marwa slotted in from a Lee Clarke pass. Aldershot surged into a 5-1 lead when Williams and John Grant scored from 12 yards, before Grant slotted in a second and Marcus Gayle headed home the fifth. Stafford Rangers v Aldershot
Stafford Rangers boss Phil Robinson could hand Craig McAughtrie a recall as they seek their fourth win in a row. The central defender was on the bench on Saturday after a groin strain but could come back into the starting XI in place of Liam Murray. Aldershot will name the same squad which drew with Dagenham & Redbridge. Mark Molesley (back) remains Terry Brown's only injury concern as the Shots seek an away win which could lift them into third place.

Brown impressed by Shots display
Aldershot manager Terry Brown could not fault his side after they beat Stafford Rangers 3-0 at Marston Road. \"I was more than happy with the victory and even more delighted that we kept a clean sheet,\" said Brown. \"At the back we looked nice and solid and we were composed against a good side. Our midfield worked hard and our wide boys were a real threat too. \"It was good to see the front men score as well. If you can have a perfect away win then this was it.\"

Aldershot 1-0 Halifax
A late Darren Barnard strike sealed three precious points for Aldershot. Barnard latched on to Ricky Newman's pass to drill the ball into the bottom right of the goal with only a minute of normal time remaining. Shots goalkeeper Nikki Bull had been kept busy, particularly in the opening period, saving from Lewis Killeen and Danny Forest Ryan Sugden should have converted from close range but his effort lacked power before Barnard sealed Aldershot's win. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aldershot: Bull, Anderson (Winfield 52), Day, Edwards, Barnard, Soares, Harding, Newman, Williams (Scott 45), John Grant, Gayle (Joel Grant 59). Subs Not Used: Wells, Pritchard. Booked: Newman, Anderson, Scott. Goals: Barnard 89. Boss concerned by 'edgy' Exeter
Exeter manager Paul Tisdale felt both sides would be fairly happy with a point after drawing 0-0 with Aldershot. \"In the first 20 minutes, I felt we played the best football we have played this season,\" Tisdale said. \"But then, because we hadn't scored, there was an edginess about us, and I was disappointed with that. \"It wasn't the most fluent game, but Aldershot stopped us getting forward, and I think both teams will be happy with a clean sheet.\"

Brown praises miserly Aldershot
Boss Terry Brown was \"delighted with the defensive performance\" as Aldershot held Exeter to a goalless draw. \"I think it is two points dropped rather than a point won, but it was probably a fair result,\" he said. \"However, if you want to win this league, then you have to come to places like this and win. \"We lost Darren Barnard before kick-off, but Phil Anderson came in and he showed me I don't need to hesitate about putting him in when required.\"

Aldershot v Stevenage
Aldershot have doubts over Marcus Gayle, Rick Newman and Darren Barnard who are all rated 50-50. Barnard missed the draw at Exeter, while Gayle and Newman were replaced by Ben Harding and Joel Grant. Veteran defender Mark Beard could make his first start for Stevenage after making his debut as a substitute in the win over Stafford. Beard will get the nod if Barry Fuller does not recover from a knock, Dale Binns is absent with a knee injury.

Brown salutes four-star Aldershot
Aldershot manager Terry Brown was elated with his side's attacking prowess as they beat Stevenage 4-0 to move up to third in the Conference. The Shots hit the woodwork three times and missed a penalty before easing past Borough, with Joel Grant netting twice. Brown said: \"These are the kind of nights you work for. I can't remember the last time a side of mine created so many chances. \"Nothing is ever perfect, but I will look forward to watching that video.\"

Aldershot v Altrincham
Aldershot will be without Darren Barnard, who faces a surgery on a groin injury and a month on the sidelines. Rhys Day (knee) will be out for at least another two weeks while Mark Molesley is still missing with a lower back problem. Altrincham duo Peter Band and Gary Talbot are in contention for a recall following their recovery from injury. But Colin Little, Steve Bushell, Gary Scott, Justin Bowler and keeper Stuart Coburn will not feature.

Shots striker extends loan spell
Aldershot Town striker Kirk Hudson is to spend a second month on loan with Ashford Town (Middlesex). Hudson had his stay with the Ryman League side extended following a successful first month at Short Lane. Hudson, 19, signed a permanent deal with the Shots in the summer but made just three appearances from the bench before joining Ashford. Meanwhile, midfielder Mark Molesley hopes to step up his training following a back injury.
