Ainsworth: Referee cost QPR in defeat
Gareth Ainsworth confronted the referee after his side's 2-1 defeat by Carling Cup giant-killers Burnley.
The Clarets arrived at Loftus Road on the back of Wednesday night's penalty shoot-out win around the corner at Chelsea, and proved their performance was no fluke with goals from Robbie Blake and a superb winner by substitute Alan Mahon.
Rangers had taken a 14th-minute lead when Lee Cook teed up Dexter Blackstock, who curled his seventh goal of the season past Wednesday night's penalty hero Brian Jensen.
But Ainsworth was left to rue a couple of penalty decisions which went against his side.
Blackstock was impeded by both Clarke Carlisle and Stephen Jordan but referee Keith Woolmer waved away the hosts' appeals.
"It's bite your tongue time for me - a lot of managers have got into trouble this week," said Ainsworth.
"But the penalty changes the game for us and I said that to the referee at the end."
