Adel Taarabt has joined the R's on loan for the rest of the season.
"Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp told me they are not really in a position to give young players like me an opportunity right now and QPR were keen on me," the 19-year-old Moroccan international told the official QPR website.
Taarabt's coach at Loftus Road will be Paulo Sousa, a situation that the Portuguese thinks will be the case long-term, despite speculation over his future.
"My contract is not just for this season," he said.
"From the first day I came here we agreed I would build. I have already spoken to the board about this."
