AC Milan defender Taye Taiwo has signed
AC Milan defender Taye Taiwo has signed for London club Queens Park Rangers on loan, according to reports.
The Rossoneri full back had been linked with English giants Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal earlier this month, but the power of chairman Tony Fernandes has lured the 26-year-old to Loftus Road.
Manager Mark Hughes continues to look for defensive acquisitions to put a stop to defensive leaks, with Chelsea’s Alex and Manchester City’s Nenad Onuoha also on the Welshman’s list.
Rangers midfielder Joey Barton was first to break the news on popular social network Twitter: ”Taye Taiwo from AC Milan signing for the Rs.
“Was very good when I seen him for Marseille. Good news. First of many, fingers crossed.”
The dead-ball specialist was a bit-part player in his first season at Milan after arriving from Marseille in the summer. He managed a total of four league, and three Champions League starts in his first stint at the San Siro.
